WELCOME

WELCOME... my place is your place. Come in and sit a spell.

I hope to use this blog to share with you my experiences as District-Level Delegate to the Democratic National Convention Conference August 28 - 30 in Denver and on to the Presidential Election in November.

WHY I RAN...
I ran for Obama Delegate in the 33rd congressional district (Diane Watson) and was elected in the Obama Caucus on Sunday April 13th 2008. These are exciting and historic times.

I ran for district-level Obama delegate because I resonate with Obama when he says "I'm asking you to believe. Not just in my ability to bring about real change in Washington DC… I'm asking you to believe in yours."

I ran because I believe. I believe in government of the people by the people and for the people. I believe that with our help Obama can lead our nation to a place of respect and prominence where every American citizen is regarded and every foreign nation is our ally. This is an electrifying time in our national election history. No matter who receives the Democratic nomination... it will be historic. I invite you to take the journey with me.

Peace, Jackie Hawthorne

Hi Jackie,
What a great priviledge you have. Severing and believing in what is right is important for change, I believe Barrak will do that for the American people.
Who would have ever though we would live to see a Black American win the nomination for the possibily.
Do whatever you can pray, believe and it will happen.

Val
